Top 5 book choices tag

Allo mes jolis amis,

Today I welcome you to my room.

Since I was just a little girl I’ve always wanted to have a library like the one from ″Beauty and the Beast″. I have been fascinated with books my whole life and the stories they hold.

I was nominated to do this tag by my good friend Nebojsa on Facebook, but I decided to do the tag here. So, this is it: the list of top 5 book choices in my humble library.

5) ″The Witcher″ by Andrzej Sapkowski

(''The last wish'' and ''Blood of elves'')

These remarkable books are series of fantasy stories about the witcher called Geralt of Rivia (a monster hunter who was genetically modified in order to receive magical abilities which can help him fight dangerous creatures) and his adventures. So far I’ve read the first two books and I have the third sitting and waiting its turn. For all I could say without too much spoilers is that these books will spellbind you, but of course, only if you love the fantasy world. There’s a video game also created by the book, but not necessarily follows the plot. So if you like these sorts of books I warmly recommend this series.

4) ″The picture of Dorian Gray″ by Oscar Wilde

The first thing that mesmerized me in this book was Victorian era, which, for me, was one of the most beautiful times in England. Besides, this book is permeated by the original symbol of sin which spread throughout the whole book since inception until the very end, where it experiences the culmination.  There is something about the temptation, sins and redemption that fascinate me. I know that overall this is not the main focus of the book but, for me, it is, by far, the best secondary aspect ever.

3)″Necronomicon″ by H. P. Lovecraft

Necronomicon is a collection of horror short stories written by Lovecraft. I personally didn’t experience such fear from stories whilst reading, but an awe of how Lovecraft created these stories and the endings of each and every one of them. If you do not like reading horror, I suggest not opening this book because it’s not as scary as it is filled with creatures that create these illusions of horror. But then again, I love these types of things; therefore this book is in my top 5 list.

2) Le Fantôme de l'Opéra″ by Gaston Leroux

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the famous Phantom of the French Opera. For those who haven’t, Phantom of the Opera was the mad protagonist in Leroux’s novel. Now, I don’t think he was mad, but poor, unfortunate soul. Without any spoiler, Erik (that was Phantom’s name) experienced a big trauma in his childhood that followed him a great deal of time. While the French opera was being build, Erik created his very own room in the attic, without anyone knowing, where he stayed for a very long time.  Throughout the years, he became a phenomenal composer and an architect and that is how he earned money from the opera. But still he kept a little bit of madness in him. We are also being introduced with Christine Daaé (a daughter of the famous violinist who passed away) and her childhood sweetheart Raul. The rest is waiting for you to take the book and read it. I can guarantee that this book is exciting and very emotional. And even though it was published in 1909, this book is still popular today through numerous Broadway shows and movies, and it is undoubtedly one of my favourites.

1) ″Pride and prejudice″ by Jane Austen

This book is my little baby. It consists of 4 novels by Jane Austen, and the one I can point out is Pride and prejudice. This book is marvelous by its nature. It is about the five daughters and their adventures in Georgian-English society. It is quite non-fantasy, relaxing book, just the one for the sunny Sunday afternoon.

I couldn’t end this post without honorable mentions.

I am, I’m sure like the others, in love with Harry Potter books. It’s the feeling it gives me, a completely whole new world. And when I read these books I feel happy.  This world is not a mundane one. On contrary, it is filled with adventures and unusual, magical things. I admire Joan K. Rowling's inspiration and success, respect her as a writer, and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books.

So that’s it for now mes amis.

Be safe, strong and happy.

Yours truly,

P.S. I challenge you all to do this tag. It's quite interesting and fun.
Be sure to stay toned for more exciting blog posts. XO

A coffee with a dear one

Allo mes jolis amis,

Welcome back to my blog.
So, recently I’ve finished my final exams and decided to relax a bit in the nearby café in Belgrade, called Rio. My friend Vanja and I were first promenading on the Zemun quay which is full of greenery and flourished treetops. We were drinking coffee and chit chatting about all sort of things such as upcoming concert of Il Divo <3.  Oh what a nice way to unwind on the sunny Sunday afternoon.

Welcome

Allo mes jolis amis,

Welcome to my blog. Here you can find interesting things about lifestyle, books, fashion, movies, interior design and more... We can also discuss all other peculiar things, so feel free to leave a comment on whatever you would like.

Oh, where are my manners? Let me introduce myself: my name is Christina and I come from Serbia. I am currently a student on Faculty of organizational sciences in Belgrade. Even though I study management, I’ve always had that old, artistic soul and, as I was finding that out growing up, writing became my passion and who I was, actually who I am today. I love to write short stories (which you will be able to read here), novels and all sort of thing. Although I adore writing, I haven’t just yet published anything which is my dream, but hey, there's still time, I’m only 21 :) . I am also a journalist for the magazine of my faculty called InterFON, so if you are from Balkan I’ll leave link here ( www.casopisinterfon.org ) so you can check it out. I speak fluently French and English. When I was in high school, I completely fell in love with English culture, so when I had the spare time I explored about their literature and country; oh, I even do it today. I am also interested in horror movies and stories, but on the other hand I tend to be scared to death every single time I’m watching or reading. However, that doesn’t prevent me from doing it. Maybe my light will be turned on for the rest of the night… But, oh well.

That’s it for now mes jolis amis. What can I say? Expect for amusing texts, reveal a completely new world of Cristina’s pocket full of dreams, and stay tuned.

Be safe, strong and happy.

Yours truly,
