Halloween costume idea: Queen of Hearts

Allo mes jolis amis.

Wlecome back.

Halloween is coming up, so I thought I share with you my costume idea.  When’s the best time to decide what to be for Halloween party then now. I chose the most frantic person from my favourite cartoon Alice in Wonderland-Queen of Hearts.

Naturally, I wished to add to her character my personal touch. Thus I’m wearing a black dress and black high heels in order to bring a little Rock’n’Roll to the style. I also added the black leather jacket to complete the look.

Next up is makeup.

For my foundation I’m using the Maybelline concealer, BB cream (because it’s lighter on the skin) and translucent powder to make my face smoother. Next I’m using my lovely BRAND NEW NYX Natural palette, which I absolutely Love. If you read my blog post ‘’October wish list’’ you’d know that I planned on buying that palette because I really like earthly colours. I have brown eyes and I think that these colours really complement them, and, besides, I love natural colours.  In this palette firstly I’m using at the end of my eyes the darkest one. Then, I’m blending that out, and adding a little bit brighter brown colour next to it, and again blending it out together. And finally, I’m putting on a second shimmery light one on the rest of my eye, and also in the corners of my eyes. After blending it all out, I’m then putting on a Sephora eyeliner to finish up my look. I’m extending a bit more eyeliner so I can later on draw a little heart using red lipstick with a lip brush and eyeliner. For my lips I’m applying concealer and then translucent powder to make it like my natural skin. Then I’m drawing heart using a lip liner and filling in. After, I’m applying Kate Moss lipstick gently trying to follow the heart shape.

For my hair I'm using two toilet paper rolls, a 8 bobby pins for both sides,a teasing comb and a hair spray.
Separate your bottom part of the hair from your upper part and tie up your bottom part with a headband so it doesn't go in your way.  Then, separate your upper part into two(one on each side) then tease both sides. Take the paper roll securing with two bobby pins the end of your hair, and then starting from bottom, roll your hair up from your face. It is important to roll it tight so it doesn't come off very easily. Secure it again with the other two bobby pins. Repeat the process on the other side. If you have bangs, you can use them to cover the front part of the roll, but if you don’t, do not fear-just move around your hair to cover up just the paper roll. Since I have naturally curly hair, I won’t curl my bottom part, but you can use your curly iron. Then spray the whole thing with the hair spray and you’re good to go.

To sum all up I drew a heart on my chest using only an eyeliner and lipstick and spraying all with a hairspray.
So, that’s it for now. I hope this gave you an idea for an easy Halloween costume.

Be safe, strong and happy.

Coffee Fest

Allo mes jolis amis.

I’ve written in my blog post ’10 ways to improve your mornings’’ how I am a huge coffee lover and when I get up in the morning the first thing I do is getting a nice cup of coffee. When I heard of Coffee Fest I wished for nothing more than to this fest appear in Belgrade. Well, my dreams came true as Coffee fest was knocking on Belgrade’s door. I was really excited. I immediately went with my friends to buy tickets and the show was about to commence.  As it was the first Coffee Fest in Serbia, I was really satisfied with the organization and the vastness of the fest.

While I was trying out various types of coffee, I was stunned by that machine in the light: a new Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee maker: Oblo.

Since I adore various types of coffee, but of course my favorite is Nescafe, I was super excited, like a little child, and decided: this machine just got on top of my must have items list.

New Lush Products

Allo mes jolis amis,

Welcome back.

I’ve been obsessing over Lush products for a couple of months now, since I’ve got it as a gift from two of my really good friends from UK. As we don’t have Lush in Serbia anymore, which I really regret, I usually go online to see what’s new, ask my relatives from Croatia to bring me when they are visiting, or bother my boyfriend who lives in Canada now. I really like that Lush is environmentally friendly, fighting against animal testing and their products are natural and handmade. So far I tried a couple of their bath bombs and I loved it. I’m actually completely in love with their goods.
But today, I want to talk about their new products for Halloween and Christmas. I found out this news from ’’Fashion rocks my socks’’ blogger Rhiannon, so I went straight to the Lush web site to check it out. Here are a couple of products that really stood out for me:

            1) Butterbear-A big softy

The reason I chose this bath bomb is because I am a big fan of soft and creamy baths. This bath bomb contains organic cocoa butter, cocoa powder and Ylang Ylang Oil plus it is moulded in petit, white bear with a cute brown nose. What more could you wish for? :D

            2) The Christmas Hedgehog Bath Bomb

This soft bath bomb is really adorable and presumably soft on your skins since it contains Ylang Ylang Oil, orange oil, organic Shea butter and rose scent. This sweet hedgehog will give soft and silky bubble bath and it is perfect for chilling in the tub while reading a book.

           3) Yog Nog soap

This soap is made with soya yoghurt which gives it that moisturizing and creamy feeling. It also contains Clove Bud oil, Nutmeg powder and Ylang Ylang Oil. On a first glance I really liked how it looked: festive carvings dusted with a cocoa powder. I could really see myself using it around Christmas time.

4)  Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

The main ingredients for this bath bomb are sweet orange oil and lime oil. The first thing that amazed me was the picture of this bath bomb when it melts away. It looks like the night sky and it is perfect for those cold winter days when you want to unwind, daydream and wish upon a star.

5) Northern Lights Bath Bomb

Lush did surprise me with this Aurora Borealis looking bath. Well, who would’ve thought that you would have northern lights in your own bathroom? I personally think that this is one magical idea with jasmine scent and Ylang Ylang Oil mixed together leaving you with happy and relaxing thoughts.

So that’s it for now. I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Leave me a comment if you tried any of Lush new products.

Be safe, strong and happy,

Yours truly,

P.S. This is not sponsored text, I just really like Lush and I wanted to share my experience and thoughts with you. XO

October Wish List

Allo mes jolis amis,

Welcome back to my blog.
I’ve been wanting to renew my makeup and buy new books for quite some time now, so I’ve made a list of thing that I wish to have in October. Here they are:

Makeup

1)  NYX Natural shadow palette

So this palette has all the basic colours. As it is autumn and the winter is approaching a decided to wear more natural look. And if I’m going out I can easily put on a bold lipstick.

2)   Urban decay eyeshadow primer potion

I heard that this is the best eyeshadow primer. Well, you’ll never know if you don’t try.

3) NYX Simply nude lip cream pink beige

This lip cream, in the colour pink beige, is the thing that I was looking for to complete my natural, autumn look.

4) Naked 2 eyeshadow palette

I chose this palette because it has more shimmer then the NYX Natural one and because it has more colours. So I’ll use for the daily look NYX, and for the night look Naked 2 palette.

Books

1)  The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I’ve wanted this book since I first laid my eyes on it in the local bookstore. After a while I went to buy it, but it was sold out, and since this book isn’t so popular in Serbia, they needed time to reorder it. Now they have it again and I am super excited. I am a big fan of old school fairs and circuses and this book is basically the story about the circus called Le Cirque des RĂȘves which flew in the city without a warning and it is only opened at night. If you’d like for me to do the review on this book, leave a comment in a comment section. But yes, I think it is going to be a phenomenal story.

2) ″Living with the light by Gail Abbott

I plan on redecorating my room. It has been painted red/blue for a very long time, as you can see in my blog post about books. My taste has changed and now I’m in love with bright colors and elegant shabby chic style, so I found this book hoping it will give me some ideas on how to enlighten my bedroom.

I hope these choices will give you the inspiration as they gave me.

Be safe, strong and happy.

How to remove your nail polish without nail polish remover

Allo mes jolis amis,

Welcome to my first post from the ''How to'' category which I will be posting every several weeks.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you don’t have your nail polish remover, all the stores are closed, and you absolutely need to take your nail polish off? Well here are a couple of solutions that may come in handy the next time.

1)    Deodorant

Just apply it slowly on the nail and leave it 10-20 seconds to absorb nail polish. After that, remove it with a cotton pad. It will take twice or trice to repeat the procedure but I promise it works.

2)    Another coat of nail polish

This tactic is well known as the nail polish already contains a little bit of acetone. Simply apply another coat of your nail polish and wipe it off with a cotton pad.

3)     Perfume

Every girl has at least one perfume in her collection so you can use it as a last resort for your nails. The process is simple: just apply it with a couple of sprays and leave it for 10-20 seconds, lean your cotton pad on the nail to let it absorb the polish, and then wipe away.

So that’s it for now mes jolis amis.

Be safe, strong and happy.
