When I was in elementary school I really loved Alice’s adventure in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It became such an inspiration to me that follows me to this very day. I liked his imagination, style of writing, that creative use of the words and the thin line between a dream and a reality that he possessed. Today, I am very fond of these stories but not so much of the writer himself.  

Since I like every variation of Alice’s adventures it is natural that I couldn't contain my excitement when I found out that the game called ''Alice Madness returns'' had come out. Surprisingly, I didn't come around to play it until last year considering the strength of the required machinery that I was lacking at the time (spoken like a true connoisseur of the technology :D ) . And so, once again, I became inspired.

Truth to be told this game is not for kids and weak-hearted. I myself had a little trouble of dealing with certain scenes at the very end of the game. It is dark but tempting, dream alike but realistic.

This outfit completely describes that darkness that Alice is carrying throughout the game. I completed the look by adding the bag with the skull, charm bracelet with various pendants such as horse figure from the chess, silver heart and ace of spades and heels that, personally, remind me of rib cage.

Carnival chronicles: The Revelation (Part 1)

‘’Step right up! Step right up! Spin the wheel of fortune! The beginning prize whatever you would like! You can even pick one to become handsome just like me! A ha. A ha, ha, ha!’’ the man with the top hat and big mustache yelled from one of many platforms that were scattered across the wide town square.

The traveling carnival was here, in my Silver Mane, and with its sound of Merry-go-round, marching bands, crystal xylophones and calliopes it made quite a spectacle of chaos. Fortune tellers, magicians, acrobats, people who breathe fire, snake whisperers. They had it all. Only after the laughter of the clowns, did I experience full adventure of this place.

My name is… well it could be Alice, or Gabriela, Elizabeth or Claudia. It doesn’t really matter. The one thing I knew for sure: Carnival was in my hometown.

 ‘’ Money, success,… maybe youth…’’ a man with the top hat continued, ‘’Ha?! How about you sir?! Yes, yes you. You with a goatee. You look like you need a few years less, ha, ha, ha, ha!’’ said the man, ‘’ Come on up dear sir! Come up.’’ he offered his hand to the poor stranger, but the stranger refused profoundly insulted with this supposed joke and climb up the podium himself. The poor man sat in a swirly carved chair near the massive mirror as I was walking away looking for my friend.

It was chilly November night, and my leather jacket wasn’t enough. It basically became part of my uniform, who I was: a detective. But tonight I wasn’t on my duty: I got a text from my very good friend to meet me here. She was very excited about the carnival; I on the other hand didn’t like crowded places.

‘’Come join the fun.’’ Someone yelled. You could hear the kid’s laughter, screaming from the old octopus whirligig, creaking from the carousels.  The air was filled with the colors of the reflectors, fire and tents.

After I bumped into the man on stools, I got a message that she would be late. Just my luck.

I ended up in front of a small podium and the show was about to start. It was some sort of magician. Heh, nothing could fool these eyes. I got interested I admit.

’Gather around! Gather around! Dear ladies and gentlemen be heartily welcomed to Cirque de Lune! And what a show we have for you tonight!’’ the music commenced as the girl was announcing, ‘’I proudly present to you Angus the Great!’’

Suddenly people actually began to gather around: they were clapping and whistling. This became a little amusing for me. On stage appeared young and, honestly, very attractive man. Strangely, he was familiar, and as he could read my mind, he gave me quite a look.  After a while people started enjoying his tricks and applauded him. He even gave one toy to little girl in the audience which caused even bigger excitement.

Just when I was about to give in to the joy of carnival, I felt a sudden stir.  The magician looked up which made me do the same. A lightening from the sky hit stage where the man with the hat was doing his tricks, making the man on the chair disappear. Then, in hurry, he packed his things and rushed off the stage. A chaos ensued: people were screaming and running. I suddenly felt that someone was grabbing my arm and was pushing me away. It was the girl from stage, the apprentice of the magician.

‘’Come on! Come with me. Hurry!’’ she panicked.

We finally got thorough the crowd. She led me to one building which I hadn’t noticed before.  It was rustic and abandoned from outside. When we got inside I realized the girl was scared but she looked like she knew what she was doing. With gentle swing with her hands she turned on the lights revealing the brightness of the baroque, white and wide walls which led to the old staircase.

‘’This is for you.’’ She said giving me the letter.

‘’Quickly! We don’t have much time. Follow the instructions precisely.’’

I opened the letter and started reading:

‘’My dear friend,

I know that you don’t remember me, but I am on your side, I promise. Our people are in great danger and you are the only one who can help us right now. Go to the big wall at the border of your city. You will find the next letter there. Please, help us.

Angus.’’

 I raised my head to ask the girl who she was, but disappointingly enough she was already gone. I rushed outside just to find out that the circus was gone too. There was no one left. I started my car and thought: This is going to be an interesting journey…

Nightwish-Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Nightwish is my favorite band of all time and I have been listening to them since I was in high school.  As I was growing as a person they have been also growing a lot as a band so their music and lyrics became pure art according to my opinion.  I am grateful to the band for countless times they gave me an inspiration, a beautiful feeling to come back to. As I might have said, their music will always be a part of me.

Nightwish new album is coming out very soon and this is going to be their eighth album.  As part of the new album they are going on a tour, and they are starting in April which is amazing.  I've been wanting to see them live since I can remember. So for this April I chose an outfit for their concert.  Hope you like it.

Lush Chat-Valentine's Day Edition

 I am super excited since I’ve found out that Lush released new Valentine’s Day products so I thought I’d share with you.

When I think of Lush products I start to feel quite calm and relaxed since I really like to pamper myself.  I immediately start thinking about how I can reward myself after finishing hard exams and plan the whole thing out. I always find the reason for a perfect and relaxing time. So this time, let the reason be the Valentine’s Day. 

Whether you are single or in a relationship you can always spend the Valentine’s Day amazingly, and Lush made sure of that. So if you are going on a romantic dinner, watching your favorite TV shows, playing video games with someone or partying with your friends, you can always add a little something to wrap up this beautiful evening.

So without further ado, here are the Lush products that I’d use for this special day:

Heart Throb

The first product I was utterly amazed by was Heart Throb. The main ingredients of this heart shaped bubble bar are: the Vanilla Absolute that gives that sweet and comforting scent; Geranium oil which is used for that bright red colour, balancing effects on the skin and for creating that floral aroma; Shea butter as a moisturizer; and finally, Frangipani absolute for fragrance. This bubble bar will turn your water into a bright, passion red and romantic paradise.

Rose Bombshell

The next one is Rose Bombshell bath bomb. Now, this is not exactly from the Valentine’s Day collection but since it’s bursting with rose petals when you put it in the water and has mesmerizing rose scent, it sure can be used for very romantic bath with gentle music. The bath bomb consists of: Rose oil, which not only nourishes skin and restores balance, it is considered an aphrodisiac; Soya milk powder, which works as antioxidant and skin softener; Rosewood oil which is antiseptic and gives that uplifting feel; Orange flower absolute which intensifies floral scent.

Floating Flower

 When I saw Floating Flower bath bomb I was really happy with the essential oils it had. Jasmine absolute gives it that floral and seductive scent; Ylang Ylang oil for combating stress and also gives floral and sweet scent; and Cypress oil which is antiseptic, tones the skin and is used in aromatherapy as unwinding in the times of stress.

Unicorn Horn

Since lavender is one of my favourite scents, I had to fall in love with the Unicorn Horn bubble bar. It is sweet, magical, unwinding and dreamy. It has Neroli essential oil which is proven to boost serotonin production in the brain and tones the skin and Ylang Ylang oil. The only thing that is left for you to do is to just lay down and daydream.

Kiss lip gloss and lip scrub

The last products I really liked are Kiss lip gloss and lip scrub.  They both soften and condition lips. Lip gloss is antibacterial, really refreshes your lips, and gives uplifting feeling. It also moisturizes and protects skin, giving that subtle glossy look.
